All of the children, from YR to Y13, on the SLT mainstream caseload receiving any level of ongoing SLT support, will be using goal-based outcomes. This will enable children to select their own therapy targets for the term and evaluate their progress over the course of that term i.e. the SLT will provide the child with a range of targets at an appropriate level and the child will then select one or more of them to work on. Older children may be able to generate their own targets. Parents and/or teaching staff of younger children or those with severe communication difficulties, who are unable to make meaningful choices, may be contacted to agree targets on their behalf.
